One Last Picture

One last picture before rolling out and taking a test ride. I don't have the new 2005 Deluxe Auxillary (passing) lamp set yet. It comes with the smooth headlight tin. They're back-ordered until November 30th. I'll also get the new-for-2005 Deluxe Windshield that matches the Aux lamp kit.

I rode around the neighborhood for about an hour (20 miles). I immediately noticed that the handling was different from the stock Wide Glide feel. Now, the bike feels almost exactly like my Ultra-Classic, except that the ElectraGlide has fork dampening. I guess the new front geometry must be very similar to the Ultra. I'll triple-check all my work again before taking the bike out on the highway.

I'm very pleased with the conversion. I like the fat, dressed-out front forks. To me, it's what an 80s-vintage Harley looks like with the exposed rear suspension, and vibrating engine in rubber mounts. I believe my Harley is totally unique. There's probably not another like it in the world.
