Adjustment Nut Installed

Previous | Home | Next

This photo shows the bearing adjustment nut back onto the tape-wrapped steerer. Since this is on my workbench and not actually on my Wide Glide, one must use his/her imagination (or refer to the shop manual) regarding the frame/bearing that would normally be right under the nut. I must admit that proper adjustment is tricky for someone that doesn't do it every day. I adjusted the bearing freeplay several times before being satisfied. The shop manual explains this critical point well.
