Alrighty! This is the really fun part. This is called, "Single Point Threading". Single point threading is required to ensure precise axial alignment of the threads and the taper of the tool. Threading using a die can result in threads being off-center or womper-jawed. If the threads are not centered on the axis of the tool, the tool becomes a MIS ALIGNMENT TOOL instead. That's bad. Look closely, you can see the point of the tooling cutting the thread. All facets of a lathe are used for this procedure. I had to improve my single-point threading skills for this project.
